What we collect, and what we don't
Last updated 19 September 2026
The short version
Kreeda counts your reps on your own phone: the camera is never streamed to a server for analysis. By default the app also saves a short video of each set to your account, which you can turn off in Settings. We collect what the app needs to work — your account, your numbers and those clips — plus a few usage events of our own to see where people get stuck, and nothing for advertising.
There are no third-party trackers, no analytics SDKs and no ad networks in the app. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with data brokers.
What we collect
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | Identifies your account and is how you sign in. Someone who types your exact email address into search can find your account, but the address itself is never shown to other users. Kreeda's admins can see it in the moderation dashboard. |
| Phone number | Optional. Only stored if you fill it in on your profile. |
| User ID | The account identifier your workouts, duels and friendships hang off. |
| Photos or videos | Your profile picture, and your workout clips if you leave clip saving switched on. |
| Fitness data | Rep counts, plank seconds, Base Power Test results from older app versions, and the Power Level, streaks, milestones and daily-challenge wins derived from them. |
| Body weight | Optional. Only stored if you add it on your profile, and you can clear it any time. A whole number of kilograms, used only to estimate the calories a set burned. Never shown to anyone else. |
| Device ID | A push-notification token for each device where you turn notifications on, so a duel or a nudge can reach your lock screen. Removed when you log out on that device. If your session there ends some other way — it expires, or you are signed out from another device — the token is removed the next time the app is opened on that phone, and notifications can reach it until then. If the removal can't reach us, the app tries again each time it is opened. Deleting the app doesn't reliably remove it; deleting your account always does. Older versions of the app remove it only when you log out while online. |
| Customer support | Anything you write in the feedback box, with the app version, build number, platform and OS version attached so we can tell which release and system you are on. |
| Product interaction | A few events the app records itself: skipping or finishing the intro, the camera counter opening and closing (with the exercise and how many reps it counted), camera access being blocked and, on older app versions, opening or starting the Base Power Test — plus the app version and platform. We use them to see where people get stuck. They are stored with the rest of your data and never sent to an analytics company. |
| Diagnostics | When saving a set needs an automatic retry: what went wrong the first time (in your phone's own words, such as "the network connection was lost"), how long that attempt took, how many tries it needed and whether the set was saved — plus the app version and platform. We use it to find and fix failed saves. Stored with the rest of your data and never sent to an analytics company. |
| Sign-in records | For each signed-in session, our sign-in provider records the IP address and the app or browser identifier it came from, to keep you signed in securely. |
| Safety and social records | Friend requests and friendships, duels and arena entries, gym memberships, requests and invites, nudges, the people you block, reports you file (with any note you write), reports others file about you, and any moderation action taken on your account. Used to run the social features and enforce the rules; your blocks and reports are seen only by you and Kreeda's moderators. |
| Other data | Your username, your chosen city if you enter one (your rivals see it on your profile), your phone's time zone (so streaks and the morning reminder follow your local day), your app settings, and — if you found a gym — its name, motto and city, which every Kreeda user can see. |
All of it is linked to your account, and none of it is used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Your camera
Rep counting uses a pose model bundled inside the app, running on your device. Individual frames are analysed on the phone and discarded. Apart from the saved clip described below, no frame of the camera feed leaves your phone.
"Save workout videos" is on unless you turn it off. While it is on, the finished clip is uploaded to private storage under your account so you can watch it back and answer duels with it. Turn the setting off and nothing is recorded at all. If the app cannot read your setting for any reason, it treats that as a no and records nothing.
Who can see your profile and numbers
Any Kreeda user who types the start of your username (two letters or more), or your exact email address, sees your username, profile photo and Power Level — never your email. Your profile photo is stored at a public web address, so anyone who has that link can open it.
Your rivals — people you have connected with — also see your lifetime totals for each exercise, your current streak, your city if you set one, when you joined, your milestones, how many Kreeda Weekly crowns you have won, and a chart of your XP over time.
Everyone who reaches Bronze is entered in the Kreeda Weekly automatically, whichever app version they use. The current app no longer shows it, but older versions do, and there any Kreeda user can see each entrant's username, photo, Power Level and points gained that week. If you are in a gym, any Kreeda user can see its roster, including each member's streak, weekly points and whether they trained that day.
Who can see your clips
Clips live in private storage, and the app hands out short-lived links that expire. You can always watch your own. In a duel, both players can watch both clips from that duel — a mystery duel keeps the challenger's score and clip hidden from the other player until the duel ends, whether it is answered, forfeited or runs out of time. A clip entered into an arena can be watched by everyone who can open that arena: all of its creator's friends for a friends arena (including people who are not your friends), or every member of the gym for a gym arena. The Kreeda Weekly shows no clips at all. Kreeda's moderators can view clips to handle reports and enforce the rules.
You can delete any clip from Past Workouts in the app. The set and its reps stay on your record; the footage is removed from storage, and any playback link already handed out expires within the hour. Copies you already saved to Photos or shared are not recalled — those are yours to manage.
Who we share it with
Our infrastructure providers, and only so the app can run: Supabase (authentication, database and clip storage), Render (the API server) and Expo, which relays push notifications to Apple — it receives your device's push token, an installation ID it uses to issue that token, and the text of each notification. If you sign in with Google, Google gives us your email address, your Google account identifier, your name and a link to your Google profile photo, and our sign-in provider keeps them with your login; the app does not show or use the name or photo. If you sign in with Apple, Apple gives us your email address (or a private relay address) and an account identifier; the app asks Apple for your name but does not keep it.
If you email support, the message and your address are held in our support mailbox, which Apple's iCloud Mail hosts, for as long as it takes to help you.
Deleting your account
Open your profile in the app and choose Delete account. It erases your workouts, stats, body weight, test results, duels, arena entries, friendships, gym membership, unlocked quotes and usage events together, then every clip and avatar you have stored, then the login itself. A duel belongs to both players, so the duels you fought disappear from your opponents' history too, and any arena you created is removed along with everyone's entries in it. A gym you founded stays up for its remaining members, with the name, motto and city you gave it. It cannot be undone and we keep no shadow copy.
If you would rather we did it for you — or you created a login but never chose a username, so the app has no profile to delete it from — email support@kreeda.me from the address on the account.
Children
Kreeda is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, the date at the top changes with it.
